"How do you get a person who is making $1000 a week selling illegal drugs to stop selling those drugs and to take a job paying minimum wage?" Our response: "Pay them to do any job they would do for free." –Michael Grant, President & CEO
Give Music, Inc. offers Springfield and its surrounding areas a unique, hands-on learning experience in the arts, by providing access to arts spaces and independent production/recording services to underserved artists of all ages and to anyone who seeks to break cultural barriers.
We believe – that everyone deserves a chance to be seen and heard so we offer hands-on, workforce development training for the entertainment industry.
Typically, we train youth and adults in fields such as audio engineering, concert lighting, and concert production, but as a social venture, we also provide Youth Development opportunities to young people. We do this by offering entertainment services to underserved communities.
These services give young people a chance to produce and operate festival grade events where they live and work. These events provide communities with a chance to be in dialogue and build relationships across our diverse nation. We strive to foster a vibrant and socially just world using music and live performance as a catalyst for communication.
As each community tour is completed, the young people are certified to work in the national touring industry. We are Workforce Development and Youth Development combined. Our staff, volunteers, and global partners all align with one mission: “To offer support and opportunities to young people while helping the global entertainment industry to Give more Music.”
